Cremation Safety Checklist

Crematory operators work a job like no other; often times behind the scenes, they care for our loved ones in their final moments before their disposition. They do the heavy lifting, both literally and metaphorically, of keeping funeral care providers on schedule with the families they serve. Because of their unique job, they are also exposed to a unique set of workplace hazards.

This checklist is designed to help you assess workplace hazards and keep yourself safe from start to finish while performing cremations. Hazards can arise from placing a decedent into their cremation container all the way to you processing their remains. Follow these steps to help elevate your workplace safety at your funeral home or crematory.
