This course is designed for veterinary professionals that work directly with dogs.  Those who work in the veterinary industry know there are a unique set of hazards that face veterinary professionals. One of the most common hazards, and one that is an assumed part of the job, is dog bites. Dog bites pose a hazard to those that a dog is familiar with, like owners, as well as strangers, like the veterinary professional. Even dogs that have not been aggressive in the past may pose a biting threat under the wrong conditions. Veterinary professionals can play an active role in their own safety, and, with proper training and implementation of workplace controls, can help promote the safety of patients, patient families, and all others at the clinic.
